This antiques dealer has really got an eye for a bargain.
Antiques dealer Tim Gill, 32, is selling a grisly collection of more than 70 prosthetic eyes on eBay.
The job-lot of 72 vintage prosthetics in a variety of sizes and colours is currently on sale for an eye-watering £1,875.
Mr Gill said: “I don’t think there’s any practical use for these glass eyes – they’re aimed at medical history enthusiasts.
“There is a real market for old medical instruments and lots of people are interested in them.”
Mr Gill obtained the bizarre collection from a previous eBay auction.
He said: “The items date from the 1930s. They almost certainly originally came from an optician. You’d just pick out your size and colour and buy them directly.”
Mr Gill, of Shaftesbury, sells around 70 items a week. He currently has 194 items of interest to medical historians on sale at his eBay shop.
Mr Gill said: “I sold a set like this before to an unnamed buyer. They might look weird to me and you but they’re really interesting for people who are into medical history.”
A set of 74 prosthetic eyes were sold for £940 at Hansons auction house in Lichfield, Staffordshire in an unconnected sale in April 2014.
